I wrote this post last February when I got accepted in the NCI/ Texas Work Source Subsidized Childcare Program. I’ve been receiving many emails about the program and many calls related to this program. I just wanted to share a testimonial/a good story about the experience. This is the second person that has applied for help since I posted a blog back in February. Seems as though many people are starting to get acceptance letters! What a joy 🙂

Hello. I applied thru the Workforce Solutions back in April, not knowing that it was tied to NCI. Back then, they said I would be put on a 2-5 month waiting list due to lack of funds– but as I have learned in the past, always apply anyway. A waiting list is not a “no” or a hard and fast denial of assistance. Sure enough, they contacted me last week saying that funds have now been made available. Trust me, I’ll be sending my paperwork to them asap!
Best of luck to anyone going thru this process. For anyone needing to get started, the web site is wrksolutions.com. I am more than willing to share my experience with anyone who asks.

NCI is a subsidized childcare assistance program that used to be offered by the Neighborhood Centers of Houston; this program is now part of the Texas WorkForce. I asked what the program is called today and was told simply “subsidized assistance.” It took me a while to figure this one out because I kept on searching for NCI and only the National Cancer Institute and such would come up. It was a good learning experience though. Click here for more information and how to apply.
If you are enrolled click her to find a provider.
Anyway, I’m enrolled in this program now, so that means I can help out a variety of families. If you are looking for this service and wish to come be part of my mission I encourage you to come by and visit my home.
Thank you for visiting my website and God Bless!!!

Hello, I hope all is well with your new bundle of hoy! It is so ironic that I stumbled across your ad on Craigslist. I too Have been searching
for “NCI” provider info. May you please inform me on how to apply? So that I may also accept subsidized childcare assistance at my facility. I thank you in advance and look forward to hearing from you soon.

Actually its not very hard. If you contact your local Texas Work Source they should be able to give you all the details.

Hello! I’m so glad I found this blog. I too didn’t know what NCI means and was curious since I see it so often during my searches for childcare assistance. Little did I know was that I had gotten the ball rolling when I had applied thru Texas Workforce to be added to their waiting list back in April. This past Friday they sent me a letter indicating that funds have been made available to apply for assistance, so I am going to send in my paperwork asap!
What a learning experience this has all been.

WoW! Thank you so much for sharing your testimonial. I’m glad that my post was able to guide you to the right direction. What a blessing to have taken the time to reach out to me and to other families who might need the help. I’m glad you applied and that the process was faster than anticipated. I will be posting you comment on my blog if you don’t mind.
Thanks again.
