J is for Jello fun.
In Jolly Phonics the kids are to Jiggle for the letter J. So what better than to have fun with food?
Here we unleashed our inner creativity with Jellin’-Melon, by combining our favorite fruit and gelatin flavors. All we did is chill some lime gelatin in a hollowed out cantaloupe for a refreshing treat. The combinations are endless and fun.
We also made Jelly fish using coffee filters and streamers. All we did is used is coffee filters, water based markers and streamers.

I wrote this post last February when I got accepted in the NCI/ Texas Work Source Subsidized Childcare Program. I’ve been receiving many emails about the program and many calls related to this program. I just wanted to share a testimonial/a good story about the experience. This is the second person that has applied for help since I posted a blog back in February. Seems as though many people are starting to get acceptance letters! What a joy 🙂

Hello. I applied thru the Workforce Solutions back in April, not knowing that it was tied to NCI. Back then, they said I would be put on a 2-5 month waiting list due to lack of funds– but as I have learned in the past, always apply anyway. A waiting list is not a “no” or a hard and fast denial of assistance. Sure enough, they contacted me last week saying that funds have now been made available. Trust me, I’ll be sending my paperwork to them asap!
Best of luck to anyone going thru this process. For anyone needing to get started, the web site is wrksolutions.com. I am more than willing to share my experience with anyone who asks.

NCI is a subsidized childcare assistance program that used to be offered by the Neighborhood Centers of Houston; this program is now part of the Texas WorkForce. I asked what the program is called today and was told simply “subsidized assistance.” It took me a while to figure this one out because I kept on searching for NCI and only the National Cancer Institute and such would come up. It was a good learning experience though. Click here for more information and how to apply.
If you are enrolled click her to find a provider.
Anyway, I’m enrolled in this program now, so that means I can help out a variety of families. If you are looking for this service and wish to come be part of my mission I encourage you to come by and visit my home.
Thank you for visiting my website and God Bless!!!
